WHAT IS WOMEN'S HEALTH PHYSIOTHERAPY?

Women's Health Physiotherapy,  (or Pelvic Health Physiotherapy), is a specialist field dedicated to the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal and functional conditions affecting women across all life stages.

This includes specific issues related to the pelvic floor muscles, such as urinary or faecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and chronic pelvic pain. It is also crucial for managing conditions associated with pregnancy and postpartum recovery, including pelvic girdle pain, sciatica, and diastasis recti (abdominal separation).

Treatment is highly personalised and involves a combination of manual therapy, tailored exercise programmes, education, and lifestyle advice to restore function, alleviate pain, and significantly improve a woman's quality of life.
