MASSAGE THERAPY

Clinical Massage Therapy: Expert care by registered professionals

At Nurture Osteopathy, our massage treatments are not just about relaxation—they are an extension of our clinical care. All treatments are performed by our osteopath Jainaba, or our physiotherapist, Katy.

Because our therapists are dual-qualified in manual therapy and clinical diagnosis, your treatment is function-focused and informed by a deep understanding of anatomy. We don’t just treat the symptoms; we target the underlying causes of your pain.

Why Choose a clinical profesisonal for your massage?

When you book with Jainaba or Katy, you benefit from:

  • Diagnostically Informed Care: Your treatment is based on a clinical understanding of how your muscles, nerves, and joints interact.

  • Targeted Relief: We focus on specific muscle imbalances and structural tension, not just surface-level pain.

  • A Holistic Approach: We integrate Osteopathic and Physiotherapeutic principles to support your body’s long-term health and recovery.

Choose from the following:

Lymphatic drainage massage

Lymphatic drainage massage uses very light pressure and specific strokes to stimulate lymphatic vessels, promoting the natural drainage of fluid toward the lymph nodes, which can help reduce swelling (edema), support detoxification, and boost the immune system. It is often recommended for conditions like lymphedema or post-surgery recovery.

Deep tissue massage

Designed to break down stubborn knots and release chronic tension. Jainaba and Katy utilize their clinical training to identify the root cause of muscle imbalances, particularly in the neck, shoulders, and back, ensuring deeper and longer-lasting relief than a standard spa massage.

Pregnancy massage
Pregnancy massage (or prenatal massage) is a specialized form of massage therapy designed to relieve the common discomforts experienced during pregnancy. Gentle techniques are used to address muscle aches, joint pain, swelling (edema), and stress, particularly in the lower back, hips, and legs. The massage uses supportive pillows and side-lying positions to ensure the safety and comfort of both the mother and baby, promoting deep relaxation and improved circulation. It is typically recommended after the first trimester

Sports massage

A remedial, function-focused treatment aimed at preventing injury and enhancing performance. Using deep tissue manipulation and assisted stretching, we focus on soft tissue recovery and reducing muscle soreness. Your therapists provide a structurally informed assessment to optimize your movement and prevent future injury.

HOW CAN MASSAGE THERAPY HELP ME?

A massage is the perfect way to release muscular tension, reduce stress, and restore balance to your body and mind.

Massage therapy helps to reduce muscular tension and pain. Our focus is on providing clinical therapy that complements osteopathy and physiotherapy as a holistic approach to your health.

Muscular tension often develops as a protective response to underlying joint restriction or poor posture, creating persistent pain patterns. By using techniques like deep tissue massage, stretching, and trigger point therapy, chronic tension patterns can effectively be "reset".

Massages work in harmony with your osteo or physio treatment plan to enhance overall well-being.

Massage therapy is very effective as a stand-alone treatment too, and can help:

  • Relieve pain and stiffness

  • Improve blood circulation

  • Help fluid drain more efficiently from parts of the body

  • Improve the movement of different parts of the body

  • Promote relaxation

  • Reduce levels of anxiety

  • Improve sleep quality
