MASSAGE THERAPY
Clinical Massage Therapy: Expertise from an Osteopath
All our Clinical Massage, Deep Tissue, and Lymphatic Drainage treatments are performed by Jainaba Ceesay, who is both a Highly Experienced Massage Therapist and a Registered Osteopath. This dual qualification means your treatment goes beyond relaxation; it's function-focused, informed by clinical knowledge, and targets the underlying causes of muscle pain and tension.
Why Choose an Osteopath for Your Massage?
Jainaba’s Clinical Difference:

-
✅ Diagnostically Informed: Treatments are based on a clinical understanding of anatomy and pathology.
-
✅ Targeted Relief: Focusing on muscle imbalances and joint mobility, not just surface pain.
-
✅ Holistic Approach: Integrating osteopathic principles to support your body’s overall health and function.

Choose from the following:
Lymphatic drainage massage
Lymphatic drainage massage uses very light pressure and specific strokes to stimulate lymphatic vessels, promoting the natural drainage of fluid toward the lymph nodes, which can help reduce swelling (edema), support detoxification, and boost the immune system. It is often recommended for conditions like lymphedema or post-surgery recovery.
Deep tissue massage
Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that uses slow, firm, and sustained pressure .The purpose is to break down knots and release chronic muscle tension, especially in areas like the neck, shoulders, and back. Jainaba utilizes her osteopathic training to specifically identify and target the root cause of chronic muscle imbalance, ensuring longer-lasting relief.
Pregnancy massage
Pregnancy massage (or prenatal massage) is a specialized form of massage therapy designed to relieve the common discomforts experienced during pregnancy. Our certified osteopath uses gentle techniques to address muscle aches, joint pain, swelling (edema), and stress, particularly in the lower back, hips, and legs. The massage uses supportive pillows and side-lying positions to ensure the safety and comfort of both the mother and baby, promoting deep relaxation and improved circulation. It is typically recommended after the first trimester
Sports massage
Deep tissue manipulation, stretching, and other therapeutic techniques to focus on soft tissues will be used. The primary goals are to prevent injuries, enhance athletic performance, speed up recovery by reducing muscle soreness and tension caused by physical activity. It is a remedial, function-focused treatment rather than a general relaxation massage. As a Registered Osteopath, Jainaba provides a structurally informed assessment before treatment to optimize muscle function and prevent future recurrence of injury.
HOW CAN MASSAGE THERAPY HELP ME?
A massage is the perfect way to release muscular tension, reduce stress, and restore balance to your body and mind.
Massage therapy helps to reduce muscular tension and pain. Our focus is on providing clinical therapy that complements osteopathy as a holistic approach to your health.

While Osteopathic treatment is known for its hands-on approach to improving the mobility and alignment of the joints and spine, we all know that the entire body is interconnected. That’s why massage therapy—the careful assessment and treatment of muscles, ligaments, and fascia—is a perfect complement to osteopathic care.
Muscular tension often develops as a protective response to underlying joint restriction or poor posture, creating persistent pain patterns. By using techniques like deep tissue massage, stretching, and trigger point therapy, chronic tension patterns can effectively be "reset".
Massages work in harmony with osteopathic techniques to enhance overall well-being.

Massage therapy is very effective as a stand-alone treatment too, and can help:

-
Relieve pain and stiffness
-
Improve blood circulation
-
Help fluid drain more efficiently from parts of the body
-
Improve the movement of different parts of the body
-
Promote relaxation
-
Reduce levels of anxiety
-
Improve sleep quality
